HSE : IQA : Personal Protective Equipment




  1. What is personal protective equipment (PPE) ?
    • PPE means Personal Protective Equipment like helmet, shoes, safety glasses, Goggles etc.
    • It is equipments used to project the person from hazards such dust, dirt, fumes and sparks etc. It is the barrier between hazard and person.
  2. What is mandatory PPE and special PPE?
    • Mandatory PPEs are those PPEs which need to be worn by everyone in site. Normally mandatory PPE are helmet, Glasses, shoes. Special PPE are required for specific Job like face shield for grinding, SCBA for emergency rescue, welding hood for welder, FRC where there are fire hazards etc. Use the right PPE for the right job and ensure PPE suits the job.
  3. Personal protective equipments? P.P.E
    • Head protection? Hard hat, cap, and helmet Made: Aluminum, PVC, fiber glass, Plastic
    • Face and eye protection? Spectacles, Welding goggles, face shield Protect: Flying particles, radiation
    • Hand protection? Gloves, hand pads Made: Leather, rubber, PVC, asbestos Protect: Acid, oil grease, pure Alex rubber gloves electrical
    • Foot and leg protection? Safety shoes, gum boots, foot leg guard Made: Metal, leather, rubber Project: Falling materials and electrical work
    • Body protection? Apron, hood, coverall, jacket Made: Rubber, leather canvas, lead, fire resistant clothing
    • Ear production: earmuff: noise:30DB -135DB, Ear plug: 115DB-120 DB
